To bring about change when faced with an existential threat, a 'gross unhappiness of a current situation' is prerequisite.
Profound change is then required in the context of all facets of life, i.e. Individually, the family, business, society, cultures and indeed nations.
The situation of gross unhappiness with a current situation highlights just how fragile and vulnerable we are in harboring a false sense of security when confronted with existential threats three of which we now face: irresponsible technological developments, the COVID-19 and climate change. The COVID-19 pandemic dawned upon us unexpectedly as an outlier effect, for which even the world's most advanced societies and superpowers in dealing with their own problems, were not prepared. Such unpreparedness forces us into lockdown (as 'inmates') in our homes (for those who have the luxury) and those without a home, into even more existential despair. We need to find way(s) and means out of this dire situation. Time is of the essence. Now is the time to design a shared preferred future. Then only can we take the first steps, in the right direction, as leaders of humanity and custodians of nature.
